Jonathan Ross doesn’t expect to be handed a new series of his ITV chat show.
The 53-year-old presenter kicked off his latest series of the programme last night (18.10.14), with a show featuring ‘The X Factor’ judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Mel B, but it appears the ever-popular host is, apparently, already considering different career options.
A source close to the presenter told Mirror Online: "Jonathan is resigned to his ITV1 chat show coming to an end.
"He has made it clear that he wants to do other things, he has nothing left to prove. Money isn’t the issue – it is about what he wants to do with his life."
Another factor in his decision is the death of his agent and close friend Addison Cresswell last December.
The friend continued: "Addison’s death was a huge blow. It certainly got Jonathan looking at his own life. He wants to spend more time with his family and do some Âtravelling."
Jonathan is married to successful screenwriter Jane Goldman, 44, who can boast hits such as ‘X-Men: First Class’ and ‘Kick-Ass’.
The friend said the married couple – who are the parents of Betty, 23, Harvey, 20, and Honey, 17 – could spend more of their time in the US.
The source added: "Jane’s career is really taking off in America and they both fancy travelling more, now the kids are older.
"They might spend some of the year in Hollywood, and Jonathan loves Japan."
