John Torode waited three hours for his fiancée to accept his proposal.
The ‘MasterChef’ star was left feeling anxious after his now-fiancée Lisa Faulkner took time to accept his hand in marriage after he got down on one knee on Christmas Day.
Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, she said: "She said yes which was really lovely! She didn’t yes for three and a half hours! She was so gobsmacked and I said, ‘Are you gonna say yes?’ She said, ‘I haven’t said yes yet?’ Things are sort of moving in the right direction, but we’re really busy."
Lisa shared her excitement on social media and admits it was a "complete surprise".
She wrote at the time: "My gorgeous John completely surprised me on Christmas Day and asked me to marry him! After waiting to tell our family when we got home we then had a few days just grinning at each other!! I’m so very happy to share our lovely news with you. Happy 2019 it’s going to be quite a year and I’m going to embrace every minute of it. All you need is love. Love is all you need. (sic)"
John also took to Instagram to share a snap of the actress.
He captioned it: "And she said YES !! Bloody love my Lisa .. Have put a ring on it (sic)"
The couple first met on ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ and she previously stated that she likes to keep their romance low-key.
She said: "Our relationship is as quiet and private as it can be when you both work in television."
