Jennifer Garner loves camping in the backyard

Jennifer Garner loves "backyard camping".
The 46-year-old actress – who has Violet, 12, Seraphina, nine, and six-year-old Samuel with ex-husband Ben Affleck – bonds with her kids by sleeping out under the stars and cooking food on an open fire.
She told OK! magazine: "I’m a big backyard camper. My kids and I camp in the backyard every year. We just spoke this morning about when we’re going to do it.
"The only thing that matters is s’mores. Make whatever you want – hamburgers, eggs over the fire – but s’mores are all they’ll remember. I like camping with a group of girlfriends too."
When she isn’t working, Jennifer loves nothing more than reading to her children.
Asked when she feels her best, she said: "Oh, I don’t know, at home with the kids. Reading to my kids at night is probably my favourite… The thing that defines me most."
She also enjoys watching baking competition ‘The Great British Bake Off’ with her brood.
She said: "I love the ‘Great British Bake Off’ because they are so kind and supportive of each other.
"That’s one I watch with my girls at night. I also go hard down sitcom alley, because I just like watching something funny."
The brunette beauty has recently been working on a comedy series of her own, ‘Camping’, alongside David Tennant and the lighthearted project spilled over into her home life.
She explained: "I felt light and happy. It was a light, happy experience and it did bleed over. It’s good to go and laugh for 12 hours a day. I felt ready for it."
But she won’t be letting her children watch the show.
She said: "They’re just at that age where they make fun of me all the time. So that’s what they think [of the show]. They won’t see it though, it’s not appropriate."
