Jane Danson has no plans to leave ‘Coronation Street’.
The 37-year-old actress – whose character Leanne Battersby is currently pregnant with married pub landlord Steve McDonald’s baby – took to Twitter to insist that she has no desire to quit the soap.
She tweeted: "Just to let you know I am NOT leaving Corrie as many people keep asking me.
"Unless of course you know something I don’t."
However, there is drama ahead as Leanne is set to attempt to secretly flee Weatherfield after Steve (Simon Gregson) warns her to keep the pregnancy a secret from his wife Michelle (Kym Marsh).
A source explained to Inside Soap magazine: "Leanne is in an impossible situation.
"Steve can’t cope with the idea of watching his child grow up across the street from him, while having no part in its life.
"But if he tells Michelle Leanne is having his baby, his marriage is more than likely over for good. Leanne’s only option is to start afresh somewhere new, so she can bring up her little one without his huge secret hanging over her."
But her ex-husband Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is set to make a last minute dash to the train station to convince her to stay.
The insider said: "It’s obvious that he [Nick] still cares very deeply for Leanne and she still has a soft spot for him too. The big question is: Will Leanne tell him that she’s pregnant with another man’s child? Will it alter his feelings for her?"
