James ‘Arg’ Argent thinks Gemma Collins can be "a bit of a drama queen."
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star was shocked when he found out that his on/off ex-girlfriend had tried to "trap" him by not taking her contraceptive pill when they had sex last year because she was desperate to have a baby, but he has admitted he doesn’t know what to believe when she tells him things because she fabricates things for attention.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (13.10.17), he said: "The thing is with Gemma – I love her to bits as a friend – is she is a bit of a character, she likes the attention and you never really know whether she’s being real or a bit of a drama queen.
"The thing is with ‘TOWIE’, I said to the producer: ‘Look, I will come back but I just want to ease myself in gently, do some fun stuff with the lads.’ Literally, come back, first episode I’m in a shop with GC and there’s tears and tantrums."
The 29-year-old star slept with Gemma, 36, shortly after he split from his long-term girlfriend Lydia Bright and, although they ended on bad terms, they’re now friends.
He explained: "We have kept in contact, we sent the odd text message here and there. I bumped into her mum the other day and I popped into her mum’s for a cup of tea, I spoke with Lydia on the phone. We’ve actually become really good friends. Lydia was my first love – we were on and off for eight years – and my only love thus far. I think it’s nice that we can talk now and be friends but, at the moment, that’s all it is."
Arg spent three months in rehab in Thailand last year for his addiction to alcohol and is glad he decided to seek help because he hasn’t "looked back since" his release.
He added: "I was only meant to be out there for a month but I extended it by two months because I wanted to get it sorted once and for all. And I haven’t looked back since …
"I’ve lost nearly four stone now and I did a really fun show ‘Celebs Go Dating’ for pretty much the whole summer and I’m fortunate now that I’ve come back to ‘TOWIE’."
