Jake Quickenden for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

The X Factor’s Jake Quickenden has reportedly signed up for ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’

The 26-year-old singer – who was voted off the ITV talent show last month – is said to have been signed up to provide "male eye candy" for the thousands of female viewers set to tune in when the reality series kicks off later this month.

A source revealed: "Jake was a big hit on ‘The X Factor’ and not just because of his voice. He’s going to be the male eye candy in the jungle and a potential love interest for some of the female stars.

"ITV usually refrains from signing up reality stars unless they’re household names. But they’ve made a special exception for Jake."

Jake, who was taken through to the live shows in Mel B’s boys category after failing to get past the judge’s houses with Nicole Scherzinger in 2012, has enjoyed work as a presenter on Chart Show TV but is said to be keen to promote himself in the jungle.

The source told The Sun newspaper: "Jake is hoping to get at least a modelling deal out of it."

Meanwhile, TV presenter Melanie Sykes, ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Gemma Collins and ‘Hollyoaks’ actress Gemma Merna are also reported to have agreed to try their luck in the Australian jungle, where they’ll be tasked with completing Bushtucker trials that involve eating creepy crawlies and animal parts as well as performing terrifying stunts in return for food.
