Jack White: My collaboration with Beyoncé is incredible

Jack White says the track he wrote for Beyoncé is "incredibly intense".
The 41-year-old musician has a writing credit on the 35-year-old’s track ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’, and the former White Stripes frontman has opened up about working on the "incredible song".
He said: "She took just sort of a sketch of a lyrical outline and turned into the most bodacious, vicious, incredible song. I don’t even know what you’d classify it as – soul, rock and roll, or whatever it is. ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’ is incredibly intense; I’m so amazed at what she did with it."
The Dead Weather musician also revealed that the collaboration – which features on Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’ album – came about when the ‘Halo’ hitmaker asked if she could be in a band with the rock heavyweight.
Speaking on NPR’s ‘All Things Considered’, he said: "I just talked to her and she said, ‘I wanna be in a band with you.’ I said, ‘Really? Well, I would love to do something.’ I’ve always loved her voice. I mean, I think she has the kind of soul singing voice of the days of Betty Davis or Aretha Franklin. So, I was really happy to work with her."
‘Lemonade’ – released in April this year – also featured collaborations from Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and James Blake.
‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’ also credits Led Zeppelin as a writer as the track samples their song ‘When The Levee Breaks’.
