I’m A Celeb stars avoid deadly dragon attack

‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ stars had a lucky escape after a deadly dragon wandered into camp.
The huge goanna – a species related to komodo dragons – is over two-metres long, with razor sharp claws and teeth, and has a bite that is potentially fatal to humans.
The creature entered camp over the weekend while this year’s celebs – who include Kate Garraway, Caitlyn Jenner, and Ian Wright – were away competing in the ‘Love Island’-themed live trial.
The ITV show’s long-serving doctor, Medic Bob – whose real name is Bob McCarron – told The Sun newspaper: "There was a big goanna in camp the other day when they were all out at a trial, a big monitor lizard that looks like a crocodile but it’s related to komodo dragons.
"There’s a lot of them in that area. He came round and sniffed around all their bags and food and we just watched him wander through.
"They’ve got really big claws, saw-like teeth and bacteria in their mouth. That’s why the komodo dragon is so dangerous. If you get bitten by a komodo you’ll die unless you get medical help, if you just get a bite.
"If you get bitten by a goanna in this country, you’ll need a tetanus shot and antibiotics – but you could die."
The giant lizard – which can grow up to three metres – was able to slither into camp using the many bridges built to help the camp mates and crew get around the jungle.
However, they like to cause havoc as they stop anyone who plans to get in their way.
Bob, 69, added: "They now know where the bridges are so they take shortcuts. They’ll be lying on the bridge and I’ll get a call and they won’t move. They like to use their tail to whip. They can literally take the skin off you with their tail. They’re quite prehistoric."
