Hugh Jackman’s acting talents helped him find love.
The 46-year-old star married Deborra-Lee Furness in 1996, after they met on the set of the TV prison drama ‘Correlli’, and Jackman thinks his on-screen image as a tough guy helped attract his wife, even though his real-life self is very different.
The Australian actor joked: "I’m really not my wife’s type.
"It’s lucky that I met her on this prison drama [‘Correlli’] where I had tatts and the whole thing."
Meanwhile, Jackman, who stars alongside Dev Patel and Sigourney Weaver in the new sci-fi movie ‘Chappie’, also confessed he’s not very comfortable having to perform different accents in front of the camera.
However, he revealed that his wife – who’s an actress, director and producer – is excellent at them, especially after she’s had a few drinks.
Jackman – who has two adopted children with his wife, Oscar Maximillian and Ava Eliot – told KIISFM’s Kyle & Jackie O Show: "I wouldn’t say I’m great at accents.
"Deb, on the other hand, loves it. Every time she’s drunk she’s in an accent the entire time … usually Scottish. Not that I condone drinking."
