Hairy Bikers ‘land new Channel 5 chocolate show’

The Hairy Bikers have landed a new chocolate TV show.
Channel 5 are said to have signed up the pair, Si King, 53, and Dave Myers, 62, to judge seven contestants as they battle it to get their own chocolate bar in the shops.
‘The Real Willy Wonkas’ looks set to rival ‘The Great British Bake Off’, which sees bakers compete to win the title of Britain’s best amateur baker.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "The show has many of the greatest elements of ‘Bake Off’, but it goes a step further in that the whole nation will be able to taste the winner’s talent.
"The hope is a Willy Wonka in waiting will come up with a recipe as iconic as other Nestle staples like Milkybar."
Dave and Si will be hitting our screens in early 2020 – following their 2019 BBC show ‘Hairy Bikers: Route 66’ – with Channel 5 hoping the pair will bring sweeter ratings to the television network. The pair compared themselves to Morecambe and Wise, admitting their "chemistry" has played a big part in making their partnership so successful.Si said: "We have a chemistry. Like Morecambe and Wise."
Dave joked: "But we don’t lie in bed drinking tea in our pyjamas."
And Dave admitted the partnership has survived since the 1990s because the pair "really like each other" and have a genuine friendship.
He explained: "We’ve never strayed far from the fact that we really like each other and we really like cooking for each other and our loved ones. You could take the hair out and it would still work."
