Guitarist Gem Archer says ‘anything could happen’ regarding Oasis’ next move

Oasis guitarist Gem Archer has said “anything could happen” regarding the future of the band.

The Britpop legends reunited in July for their first tour in 16 years, dubbed Oasis Live ’25, and after the trek wrapped in São Paulo, Brazil, last month, Gem has spilled on all he knows about what’s next for the Supersonic hitmakers.

Reflecting on the epic reunion run, he told Guitar World “It’s the weirdest thing.

“It’s all a blur. We’ve all said that we won’t know what this was ‘till next year. When all the wheels stop spinning, you know, there’s just so much to take on board. It really was a bit of a whirlwind, you know?”

The musician says he is none the wiser as to what the future holds for the band, insisting he doesn’t know “anything about what’s coming up”.

Although he doesn’t believe anything is in the pipeline yet, Noel hinted in conversation with Gem that it’s not the end just yet.

Regarding what’s next, he replied: “Anything could happen, which could include nothing. But this was quite a thing… if stuff was happening, I think I might already know about it, if you know what I mean? It’s not something you just flick on.”

Recounting his conversation with the band’s lead guitarist, he spilled: “Noel has said, ‘No rest for the immensely talented,’ so take that how you want.”

Gem’s comments come after frontman Liam Gallagher suggested there are no plans to tour again in 2026.

The singer claims there will be “nothing going on next year” for the Don’t Look Back in Anger band.

Liam was urged by a fan on X: “announce the 2026 dates mate”

But he replied: “We’re not doing anything in 2026 sorry (sic)”

Liam – who, like Noel, is a big Manchester City fan – insisted the only major event in 2026 will be the football World Cup.

He added: “Nothing going on next year except the WC. ITS (sic) NOT HAPPENING. (sic)”

Last month, Oasis announced they are embarking on a “period of reflection” after their comeback tour came to an end.

They wrote on Instagram: “And so it came to pass.

“The most damaging pop cultural force in recent British history’ found its way into the hearts and minds of a new generation. From Gallagher Hill to the River Plate, from Croke Park on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City Of Angels, the love, joy, tears and euphoria will never be forgotten.

“There will now be a pause for a period of reflection. Oasis”

It was recently reported that the group are thought to be exploring plans for a potential greatest hits album, or more shows further down the line.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Noel and Liam will both be taking a long break to compute the magnitude of this tour.

“Being back together on stage has been incredible for both of them, and to have guitarist Bonehead back with them for the last shows has been nothing short of phenomenal.

“They’re aware of what their fans want and know the demand would be there if they did decide to put out a new greatest hits album – or to play more shows.”

Oasis have also been offered the chance to play The Sphere in Las Vegas, Coachella music festival in the US, and Benicassim in Spain.
