George Clooney taugh John Krasinski importance of good script

George Clooney taught John Krasinski the "importance of a good script".
The Hollywood legend passed down the invaluable advice when the pair worked on ‘Leatherheads’ in 2008.
Krasinski recalled: "George taught me the importance of a good script.
"He said that, as a director, you can always make a bad movie out of a good script, but you can never make good movie out of a band script.
"I agree with him and I’ve seen both those things happen many times.
"You have to be willing to devote a few years of your life to getting the script done.
"George said that you need to believe that you have your own specific take on a project and that you can bring something to directing the film that no one else can."
Krasinski had the opportunity to helm the thriller ‘A Quiet Place’, which he also stars in alongside his real-life wife Emily Blunt.
Asked if he’s sponged tips off the variety of different filmmakers he’s worked with over the years, the ‘Monsters University’ star said:"I’ve been intent on trying to learn and steal as much as possible from all the great directors I’ve had a chance to work with.
"On every project, you can discover so many insights into the directing process, working with actors, and how to move a story forward.
"There are so many aspects of the job that are going to make the difference between a good and bad film or TV show."
John will "definitely" be involved in the ‘A Quiet Place’ sequel.
Although there was some concern that the co-writer, director, and star would not be free to work on the follow-up due to filming commitments on Amazon’s Jack Ryan series, producer Andrew Form insists that the studio Paramount is not rushing a sequel and will fit in with John’s schedule.
He said recently: "Oh [Krasinski is] definitely involved. We’re lucky on this one. I’ve had movies where the studio says to you, ‘Here’s your date. Let’s go!’ and on this one we’re not rushing anything, which is amazing. So we’re gonna take our time, we’re gonna figure out where to go, but there is no rush on it and we’re just starting to talk about it. We’re figuring out what everyone’s involvement’s gonna be and what the actual next movie’s gonna be. The first one is so special to us that we really want to take our time with this and not rush anything."
