Gemma Merna will be ‘really interesting’ on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Gemma Merna thinks she’d be "really interesting" in the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star may have been known for playing ditzy Carmel McQueen in the Channel 4 soap for eight years but she believes viewers would be shocked to see how strong-minded she is if she were to head to the Australian outback.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "I think I would shock a few people. People would think I would be all nicey nicey but I hate bullies, and if I don’t like something I will say it. I’m a very honest person as well. They have their categories of what they want, but I get on with most people but I’ve also got a really strong personality as well."
The 32-year-old actress was rumoured to be entering the Australian jungle last year and, although she too thought she was jetting Down Under, the plan collapsed at the last minute.
She explained: "It just didn’t happen, but like I always say, some things aren’t meant to be."
Meanwhile, since Gemma left ‘Hollyoaks’ two years ago, she has been open to different career opportunities, and whilst it appears nothing has been agreed at the moment, reality TV shows may not be off the cards for the star just yet.
However, the blonde beauty isn’t so keen on the idea of joining ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ because she can’t escape.
She said: "I don’t know with big brother. I think it would be very hard to be stuck somewhere with people, the jungle is a bit different because you’re in the open."
