Gemma Atkinson isn’t in a rush to get married.
The 35-year-old actress has 22-month-old daughter Mia with ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Gorka Marquez, but she doesn’t feel under pressure to tie the knot anytime soon.
She told HELLO! magazine: "People are always commenting on our Instagram photos with ‘Put a ring on it’ and I think, shouldn’t you ask if I want to get married? No, I think how we are is perfect."
Gemma actually thinks that her relationship is better because they’re not married, saying it keeps them "on [their] toes".
She explained: "We both like the fact that it keeps it fresh and keeps us on our toes.
"The fact we’re aware that either of us could walk whenever we want, it keeps us making the effort and trying to make sure we know where each other stands and how lucky we are to have each other. And at the moment that dynamic works perfectly for us."
Previously, Gemma revealed she didn’t "even consider having a child" until she met Gorka.
The actress actually imagined she would end up in her 40s with "six or seven dogs and be fine with it".
Asked if she ever thought of becoming a mum, she replied: "No, and it’s probably going to sound really bad but I never – not that I didn’t want children – like I said, my sister’s got three, my two best friends have got two babies each so I’ve grown up around babies.
"But until I met Gorka, I couldn’t picture myself with a family with anybody because the relationships that I had previously weren’t stable enough for me to even consider having a child.
"I’d just always imagined that I’d be forty-odd with six or seven dogs and I’d be fine with it. I just – when I met Gorka, something changed in me and I thought, ‘Ooh there’s a softer side of me.’ "
