Fergie didn’t want Josh Duhamel split

Fergie has admitted she didn’t want to split from her estranged husband Josh Duhamel.
The 42-year-old singer announced in September she had split from her husband of eight years – with whom she has four-year-old son Axl – earlier in the year, but she has now revealed it "wasn’t [her] plan" to get a divorce, as she believed she would be married "forever".
Speaking during an appearance on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ which will air on Thursday (26.10.17), Fergie said: "It wasn’t my plan. I wanted to stay married forever."
The ‘Glamorous’ hitmaker insisted she "loves" the 44-year-old actor, and found herself getting teary-eyed as she spoke about co-parenting their son.
She added to show host Wendy Williams: "I love Josh, he’s the father of my child … You’re making me cry. We forever have that project together and we’re doing the best we can."
Despite not wanting to split from Josh, Fergie recently said she would be open to the idea of finding love again in the future, although she currently thinks it’s too soon.
She said: "I don’t know. It’s too soon for me to even think about dating. I’m open to love, but it’s just too soon."
Meanwhile, Fergie previously admitted she still has "so much love" for Josh and she and the ‘Safe Haven’ actor will always be "great friends".
She shared: "We’re great friends, Josh and I, there’s so much love that we have for each other. We really like each other, we have fun with each other. We’re just not a romantic couple anymore.
"But we are still Axl’s parents through and through, and our families – each other’s families, the cousins, my nieces and nephews – it’s all the same. So that’s the only thing that’s changed."
Fergie and Josh – who started dating in September 2004 and married in January 2009 – revealed the news of their split in a joint statement released last month, in which they said they had parted ways several months beforehand.
They said: "With absolute love and respect, we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year.
"To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family."
