Eric Bana joins cast for The Forgiven

Eric Bana has been cast in ‘The Forgiven’.
The 48-year-old actor is set to star in the film adaptation of Michael Ashton’s play ‘The Archbishop And The Antichrist’, which will see the dark-haired hunk play the role of Piet Blomfeld in the forthcoming production according to Deadline.com.
Bana will act alongside Forest Whitaker, who has been cast as the lead role Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Jeff Gum as Schmidt and Debbie Sherman as Linda.
Vince Vaughn has also been confirmed to star in the film, although his role has yet to be revealed, whilst Roland Joffé will be directing the project with the backing of Link Entertainment’s Craig Baumgarten.
The forthcoming film, which is set to hit the big screen next year, will follow Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who is the president of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa following the apartheid who meets with murderer Piet, and struggles to convince him to seek redemption for his heinous crimes.
Meanwhile Bana, who starred in Ricky Gervais spy action comedy ‘Special Correspondents’, has admitted he had to ban his co-star and director from playing guitar and even "singing" whilst shooting scenes for the film.
Speaking previously about the filming conditions on set of the Netflix comedy satire – in which they play two kidnapped journalists in Iraq – he shared: "I banned music on set, I told him on day one – you can do as you want as a director but no guitars. No guitars on set. We didn’t share a trailer, but our trailer was so small, with a shared wall I also banned him from singing in the trailer as well, cos you know you could hear each other breathe. It was way too cosy."
Bana is set to star in the role of Uther Pendragon, the father of King Arthur, which is played by Charlie Hunnam, in Guy Ritchie’s forthcoming medieval drama ‘King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword’.
