Emmerdale’s Vanity hint at wedding bells

‘Emmerdale’ stars Emma Atkins and Michelle Hardwick believe a Vanity wedding could be on the cards "a few years down the line".
The pair have hinted their characters Charity Dingle (Emma) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle) – who are known as Vanity by soap super-fans – may tie the knot at some point because fans love the couple, but if show bosses decide to keep them together long enough for a nuptials, it will be a slow-burner.
Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, Emma – who won Best Soap Actress at the star-studded event – exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "We’ve not been told about a wedding, and I imagine they would certainly string things out before they do something like that – it will be a few years down the line maybe.
"That’s if we’re still there, if they still want us?
"But if something’s working and it seems to be, and the viewers are saying how much they love it …"
Emma has had a busy year after the Vanity relationship started to blossom and fans found about Charity’s horrific childhood abuse at the hands of DI Bails (Rocky Marshall), and the 43-year-old actress admitted 2018 has been one of her "best years" ever on the soap.
She added: "I’ve loved the fact the stories have been interwoven and have gone on for quite a while.
"It’s been really interesting to have something of substance. A lot of my storylines are very short and sweet. I put a wig on, I rob cars.
"I’ve loved the story with Vanessa, I’ve loved doing something with a delicate subject matter, and I’ve put my heart and soul into it and I feel like it’s been one of my best years."
