Ed Sheeran writes album on cruise ship

Ed Sheeran has been writing his new album on a cruise ship.
The flame-haired singer hired a "cheap cabin" aboard the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner and has locked himself away penning songs for his hotly-anticipated third studio album.
A source said: "Ed turned up at the dock in New York and asked for a cheap cabin, nothing fussy.
"While aboard he requested a meeting room so they found him a basic, windowless crew room in the bowels of the ship. He spent the entire week locked away, writing."
The 25-year-old singer/songwriter didn’t sway from his usual laid-back dress sense while on the vessel, but it meant he couldn’t go into any of the more formal areas.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Ed’s casual dress meant he couldn’t get into any of the fancy dinner areas, not that he cared.
"He was pretty much confined to two informal areas but was very laid back, happy and chatting to everyone."
Ed has been on hiatus since he wrapped up his ‘x Tour’ last December and he also stepped away from social media.
But the star will make a musical comeback of sorts later this month when he features on a track called ‘Cold Water’ with Diplo, Major Lazer, Justin Bieber, Benny Blanco and MØ.
Justin – who worked with Ed on ‘Love Yourself’ – teased the collaboration on Twitter and tagged the ‘Lego House’ hitmaker in the post.
He wrote: "#coldwater coming this month. Me, @MAJORLAZER @ItsBennyBlanco @edsheeran (sic)"
What’s more, Ed has also been in talks to headline Glastonbury next year after previously impressing at the music festival.
A source recently said: "He’s one of the biggest artists in the world, and British, so bosses are desperate to book him."
