Ed Sheeran was impressed by how "friendly" Britain’s Prince William and Duchess Catherine were when he met them.
The ‘Drunk’ hitmaker was one of several stars to chat with the couple at the Royal Variety Performance last week and he doesn’t think he would be able to come across as so genuine and interested in people he didn’t know.
He said: "William and Kate were really, really friendly. I’d find it hard to walk around a circle and pretend I really like everyone but they do it really, really well.
"But yeah, they’re really, really friendly."
Catherine – who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage – also took the time to speak to McBusted and was astonished to discover they still get nervous on stage.
Singer Tom Fletcher told her: "I had a dry mouth because I was so nervous."
Catherine – who is pregnant with her second child – replied: "Really? Do you all still get nervous?"
Tom responded: "Yes because it’s a different crowd to what we usually play."
Meanwhile, veteran singer Bette Midler found herself a new fan in the prince.
After he told the ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ star she was "amazing", she said she would be back in the UK next year.
According to Britain’s HELLO! magazine, he replied: "Brilliant, I’ll look out for your show."
