EastEnders’ Lorraine Stanley hints at Karen and Phil romance

Lorraine Stanley has hinted EastEnders’ Karen Taylor will "have a go on" Phil Mitchell in revenge for Sharon Mitchell getting with her son Keanu Taylor.
The 42-year-old actress is keen for her alter-ego to get up close and personal with the Walford hardman – who is played by Steve McFadden – if her son (Danny Walters) gets together with the Walford matriarch (Letitia Dean).
Speaking about Karen’s potential love interests, Lorraine said: "She likes a bad boy. I’ve always said she might have a bit of a thing for Phil actually.
"Perhaps if something were to happen between Sharon and Keanu, Karen could have a go on Phil to get back at Sharon."
But if things didn’t work out with Phil then Lorraine believes Karen could start romancing odd-ball Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ), or even hapless club worker Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).
She said: "I can see Karen with Billy, as well – but she would just wind him up, wouldn’t she?
"Look, I’ve gone from nothing here to quite a few."
Lorraine has teased ‘EastEnders’ fans they can look forward to her motor-mouth character mixing with fellow Albert Square residents who she doesn’t usually spend time with – but the ‘Made in Dagenham’ actress admitted some of her upcoming scenes are "emotional" and "serious".
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "I’ve been filming some quite serious stuff with different characters who I don’t usually work with.
"Karen has some emotional moments coming up that are quite funny in parts – just because she is such a transparent person.
"She can say whatever she wants and still be able to get away with it.
"There is lots more to come from the Taylor family. So many layers, so many dads … we have no end of stories to tell."
