Eamonn Holmes thinks Strictly will put ‘strain’ on family

Eamonn Holmes thinks Ruth Langsford’s appearance on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will put a "strain" on their family.
The 57-year-old presenter – who has 15-year-old son Jack with his wife – is impressed with the ‘Loose Women’ star’s dedication to the show but is worried about the impact it will have on their home life.
He said: "She is working so hard. And she’s striking a blow for all the women written off in their 50s.
"She’s loving it, though I think ‘Strictly’ will put a strain on us because she’s not about and Jack and I miss her."
And Eamonn suggested he hopes Ruth – who has been partnered with Anton du Beke – doesn’t progress too far in the competition because she is "not nice" under pressure.
He added: "She might well be one of the first to go – but if that happens it will be good for my life; Ruth is not a nice person under pressure."
However, the ‘This Morning’ star insisted his co-presenter is his "soulmate" and he’ll always love her, even though they row a lot.
He told Closer magazine: "I think everyone’s marriage needs attention, I don’t think you can be lax about these things.
"But I am very blessed in that I wake up with a woman every day who I fancy above everybody else and who I respect so much.
"However, we do fight like cat and dog – I’d be lying if I said otherwise.
"But ‘The lovely Ruth’ as I call her, is the most wonderful wife and mother. I’ve found my soulmate. I’ll still love her when she’s 92, it won’t matter how many wrinkles she has."
