E4 to launch Celebs Go Virtual Dating

E4 are set to launch spin-off show ‘Celebs Go Virtual Dating’.

TV bosses are looking at love after lockdown with the new spin-off show to its flagship series ‘Celebs Go Dating’ – which sees gurus Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson find celebrity singletons the perfect match – by sending the stars on socially-distanced dates.

Anna said: "I’m so excited to get the agency back up and running. We are really intrigued to see what dating looks like during this time, and looking forward to seeing how our date-ees handle dating in lockdown."

The celebrities will be matched up with potential suitors by the dating agents before being sent off on a series of dates, either on a video call or outside while adhering to social distancing rules.

Paul and Anna will be joined by junior client coordinator and celeb confidante, Tom Read Wilson, as well as witty narrator Rob Beckett to help the celebrities find their dream date.

Paul added: "I can’t wait to throw the agency doors ‘virtually’ wide open. This series will be an exciting experiment to see how our celebs deal with dating as well as the added restrictions they wouldn’t normally have to navigate."

Prior to the global health crisis, E4 was said to be planning to put the single celebrities up in a house share, in the style of ‘The Apprentice’ for the ninth series.

An insider said at the time: "There is always plenty of drama and mischief when everyone is holed up together. It makes perfect sense and would give fans their reality fix."
