Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s German boat race

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will take part in a rowing race later this month.
The royal couple will take to the Necker River in Heidelberg, Germany, on July 20, for a competition against one another as part of their five-day tour of the country.
However, there will no doubt be some rivalry between the loved-up pair as they’ve each won a previous race – William claimed the title in 2011 when they took part in a dragon boat race across Dalvay Lake while Catherine nabbed the crown in 2014 when they competed in sailing challenge with the America’s Cup crews in New Zealand – and the upcoming event will no doubt be the deciding champion.
William and Catherine are set to travel abroad for five days from July 17 – beginning in Warsaw and finishing up in Hamburg – and have decided their children Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, two, will be joining them for the tour.
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace told the Express.co.uk: "The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward to this tour and are delighted with the exciting and varied programme that has been put together for it.
"They have decided that their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will travel with them and we expect the children to be seen on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week. They look forward to a busy and impactful tour, and are grateful that they will have the opportunity to meet the Polish and German people–such important friends of the United Kingdom–as a family."
This will be the second time the foursome have travelled as a family as they toured British Columbia for a week in October, while George joined his parents in Australia and New Zealand – prior to his sister being born – when he was eight months old.
