Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall presented Richard Flanagan with the 2014 Man Booker Prize trophy.
The Duchess of Cornwall attended the Man Booker Prize ceremony on Tuesday, October 14, where she presented the winning trophy to Richard Flanagan for his novel ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’.
The other shortlisted writers included: Joshua Ferris (‘To Rise Again at a Decent Hour’), Karen Joy Fowler (‘We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves’), Howard Jacobson (‘J’), Neel Mukherjee (‘The Lives of Others’) and Ali Smith (‘How to be Both’).
After the event was over, Camilla went on the have dinner with the winner and the other attendees at the Guildhall in London.
The 67-year-old royal is the patron of many literature related charities and trusts, including: the National Literacy Trust, Book Trust, First Story and The Wicked Young Writers Award.
Last year, the Duchess awarded Eleanor Catton with the Man Booker Prize for her novel ‘The Luminaries’.
