Denise Welch dubs Roxanne Pallett ‘manipulative and vindictive’

Denise Welch has dubbed Roxanne Pallett "manipulative and vindictive".
In wake of the recent ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ controversy – where Roxanne branded Ryan Thomas a "woman beater" when he playfully punched her – the ‘Loose Women’ presenter has called the incident the "most horrific" thing she’s seen on television.
Although the ‘Emmerdale’ actress has since apologised for her comments on the Jeremy Vine show Monday morning (03.09.18), the 60-year-old star has stated there is nothing Roxanne could do to redeem herself.
Speaking on the ITV show, she said: "She’s apologised because she was caught out, is what I feel – I feel very strongly on so many levels, as you’ve said I’ve been quite open about it on social media.
"I haven’t seen the Jeremy Vine interview – but to be perfectly honest there is nothing she could say to convince me it wasn’t the most horrific thing I’ve ever seen – pretty much on television, on that show."
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress revealed that she is friends with cobbles star Ryan and has met Roxanne in the past, and can relate to their experiences in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house after her own stint on the reality show in 2012.
She added: "The fact is only place in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ there is no camera in the toilet; there is a microphone but no camera.
"If for example, Roxanne and Ryan had been going in for a sneaky gossip about something, and she had accused him when there was no camera’s in that area – not only Ryan’s career but Ryan’s life would be in complete tatters.
"She basically set out to ruin Ryan, she was manipulative, vindictive and I hope we don’t see the likes of her again because she has done a massive disservice to real victims of domestic violence."
