Denise Van Outen has ‘properly blended’ families together

Denise Van Outen feels like she has "properly blended" her and Eddie Boxall’s families together during lockdown.

The 46-year-old actress – who has daughter Betsy, 10, with ex-husband Lee Mead – has been dating her boyfriend for six years, and finally feels like their two worlds have come together after celebrating his daughter’s 21st birthday.

Appearing on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Friday (05.06.20), she said: "It turned out to be really lovely. Betsy turned 10, she was going to have a sleepover and lots of friends over before lockdown so she was a bit disappointed, but we made it nice for her. She’s still been able to see her dad Lee, so she spent half the day with me, and then met Lee because he’s been isolating as well.

"Leah, Eddie’s daughter, turned 21. Again, disappointed not to have a party but she came to lockdown with us – he DJ’ed in the kitchen.

"Leah stays with us on the odd occasion but I’ve really had a chance to really get to know her because we’ve spent a lot of time together. We really feel like we’ve properly blended now."

What’s more, the ‘Gogglebox’ stars have been looking for a new adventure after Eddie had some time off work prior to the pandemic, and is now ready to find a new passion.

And Denise thinks she has found his talent after she desperately needed her roots touched up when salons were closed.

Eddie explained: "I’ve been in the City for 30 years and we decided I’d take a year out and see if I could spread my wings into something else.

"I’ve just been doing jobs around the house, I’m going to see if I can find a career soon."

Denise then revealed Eddie had the potential to be a hairdresser, adding: "Eddie’s done my roots twice now in lockdown and he’s been brilliant.

"I said to him, ‘We should open a salon’. We live in Essex, it’s the best place for a social distanced hair salon with really long scissors!"
