Creme de la Creme moves Channel 4

The ‘Great British Bake Off’ spin-off show ‘Creme de la Creme’ has moved to Channel 4.
The BBC – who lost the rights to the baking series to their rival channel last year – has finally cut ties with the cooking competition once and for all after the broadcaster poached the side series, also created by Love Productions, after negotiations turned hostile recently.
A source told The Sun Online: "This is the end of an era as BBC bids goodbye to ‘Bake Off’ once and for all. After letting go of the biggest show on TV, clinging to ‘Creme De La Creme’ would have been a way for them to save face. But Channel 4 have even pounced on that in order to truly dominate the ‘Bake Off’ brand. It wouldn’t be surprising if their strained relationship with Love Productions played a factor in ‘Creme De La Creme’s departure. Whatever the case, it’s back to the drawing board again for the BBC."
‘Creme De La Creme’ will air on its new home from early next year but it’s not yet known whether host Angus Deayton and judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden will follow suit.
The spin-off launched on the BBC in 2016 and saw teams of professional pastry chefs – rather than amateur bakers – go head-to-head in a series of challenges.
Meanwhile, although the BBC has lost the ‘GBBO’ and its spin-off, they have teased another baking show is in the pipeline – with Mary Berry, who quit the series "out of loyalty" to the broadcaster after she found out that it was moving to Channel 4, at the helm.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz recently, Mary said: "The new show at the BBC is still in the embryo stage, we haven’t done any development yet.
"Claudia [Winkleman, who will host the show] is terrific and we’ll be a good team, we’ve still got to find another judge. It’s to find the best home cook, it’s not baking"
The show will "test the real-life expertise of truly great home cooks" as amateur chefs are pitted against each other while they show the nation the different dishes they make their loved ones in the kitchen every single day.
