Craig David wants to headline Glastonbury

Craig David wants to headline Glastonbury.
The 35-year-old singer is set to top the UK charts with his comeback album ‘Following My Intuition’ and is now hoping to be given a slot on the Pyramid stage at the world famous festival.
Her told The Sun newspaper: "I’d love to headline in the Pyramid Stage, that’s one of my main goals. I played for the first time last year and the place erupted. Doing it on an even bigger stage would be an honour."
The ‘Fill Me In’ hitmaker made his his Glastonbury debut last year in front of 20,000 fans on the Silver Hayes stage, but thousands of people were turned away because it had reached capacity.
But Craig loved every moment of the festival and wants to do more.
He added: "I was playing Glastonbury on the Silver Hayes stage, one of the smaller stages.
"I walked out to go and get a feel of Glastonbury. I didn’t want to be that thing of being backstage the whole time, because you haven’t been to Glastonbury if you stay backstage.
"So I went out and went in the mix. I was just feeling it out. I saw all the little spots where people were doing their little rave and the little food spots.
"Literally when I was on stage I looked out, from where I was the crowd didn’t end for what looked like a mile from where I was. I was just like, ‘This is Glastonbury!’
"I had this applause at the end, people clapping but it was getting louder and louder. I was like, ‘What is happening here?’
"I have so much love for Glastonbury."
Craig also revealed how he has cut down on drinking as he wants to focus on his music.
He said: "I pick the time to go out and do my thing.
"I go for meals and hang out with mates, but if you want to give 100 per cent you can’t burn the candle at both ends.
"I’ve been given this opportunity to sing. When I wake up at 5am and I’m warming up, people think that’s crazy time to get up, but I haven’t got that attitude of ‘poor me’.
"There are doctors, firemen, servicemen, making a difference. I get to sing and write songs. I’m so grateful."
