Claire Danes would make an "abysmal" CIA agent.
The ‘Homeland’ actress – who stars as dedicated counterterrorism officer Carrie Mathison in the hit series – has revealed she couldn’t be more different from her on-screen character.
She said: "The truth is, Carrie is so dissimilar to me on basically every level.
"I would be an abysmal CIA officer. I’m not even a political beast. I make imaginative leaps all the time. I’m very good at pretending I guess."
The 35-year-old star – who has 23-month-old son Cyrus with husband Hugh Dancy – also revealed her parenting skills are very different to those Carrie has been displaying with her new son.
Speaking about the grief of having a child with Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) – who died at the end of the last series – Claire explained: "The baby is incredibly confronting for her, so her solution is to bail.
"She’s making morally suspect choices. But where would be the fun in seeing her having a reasonable and pleasant time?"
Claire – who admits she misses filming alongside former co-star Damian – insists her son is now the most important man in her life.
She added to Glamour magazine: "I love it [parenthood], I love him and I’m endlessly amazed by the depths to which I do, at how involuntary and profound it is.
"Even when he’s sleeping there’s this sense of responsibility. Once you make that choice you can never un-make it and I don’t think there’s any other situation where that’s the case."
