Chris Kamara: Ninja Warrior’s biggest challenge finally gets beaten

Chris Kamara has revealed someone will beat the ‘Ninja Warrior UK’ rope climb for the first time ever.
The final challenge of the adrenaline-fuelled game show concludes with a 22-metre rope climb called Mount Midoriyama, and until now no one in the UK had defeated it in almost five seasons.
However, Kammy told ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’: "Someone gets to the top of Mount Midoriyama. This is an exclusive. No one has done it in five seasons."
When host Susanna Reid said she thought it was meant to be an impossible task, he joked that for five series "it has been".
The incredible moment will be aired in the grand final on June 1, as one mystery contestant scales the huge obstacle in an incredible 45 seconds.
Across the show’s 31 seasons to date airing in 19 countries, only six people have ever made it to the top before, including four from Japan and two in the US.
Even last year’s UK winner Tim Shieff failed on the penultimate challenge – the flying bars – and missed out on a chance to try to scale Mount Midoriyama.
Chris and his co-presenter Ben Shephard wouldn’t reveal who has managed it in the UK though, as they didn’t want to give anything away before the semi-final on Saturday (25.05.19).
He teased: "This Saturday is elimination night, so you’ll have to try and guess who of those who get to the final on June 1st, who will get to the top."
However, Ben promised viewers will see something special next month when the fifth series comes to an epic conclusion.
He added: "Someone takes it on and manages to do that rope climb in 45 seconds. And it’s one of the most extraordinary moments, isn’t it?"
‘Ninja Warrior UK’ airs Saturdays at 6.30pm on ITV
