Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s divorce row rumbles on

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s divorce from her estranged husband Jean-Bernard is reportedly being delayed by a cash row.
The 32-year-old pop star – who is currently dating One Direction singer Liam Payne – is trying to conclude a quickie divorce from the French businessman, but so far, they have been unable to reach a financial settlement.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Cheryl filed for divorce before Christmas and hoped things would be done and dusted by now as she is keen to move on with her life and new relationship with Liam.
"This should have been dealt with absolutely ages ago but things have turned very sour.
"Jean-Bernard has hired top lawyers to make sure he doesn’t walk away empty-handed so obviously that has led to things getting very messy."
Despite earning millions through the course of her career, Cheryl opted against getting a pre-nup when she married Jean-Bernard in 2014.
Initially, the Frenchman was reportedly happy to walk away from his marriage to the pop beauty without receiving any financial settlement, but he has subsequently performed a U-turn, which has led to the lengthy delay.
In spite of their high-profile split, Jean-Bernard has previously spoken in glowing terms about the former Girls Aloud singer, insisting he does not hold a grudge against her.
He said: "It’s been a tough year, I’m trying to move on. I’ll never think badly of her – she is a great girl."
Jean-Bernard and Cheryl were both in Cannes, France last week for the annual Cannes Film Festival, although they did not come face-to-face at the event.
However, the businessman was linked to the likes of Pamela Anderson and Cheryl’s old pal Vanessa Perroncel during the festival.
Jean-Bernard subsequently insisted he does not enjoy being the subject of such speculation.
He said: "I’m a normal guy. I didn’t want to be in the public eye – I’m not a celebrity."
