‘Casualty’s Zoe Hanna is to end up in bed with her estranged husband Max Walker on Saturday (07.05.16).
The former couple – who split after the consultant announced moments after they tied the knot that she’d cheated on the hunk – have spent months trying to repress their emotions but, it seems, they can’t fight their chemistry anymore and end up having a night of passion.
Sunetra Sarker – who plays the cheating consultant – explained: "Showing them waking up together happy is bittersweet in a way. From Zoe’s point of view, she’s living in the moment, and she loves it. But she also realises that they haven’t addressed any of their issues."
However, their romance is set to come crashing down once again after Max (Jamie Davis) learns Zoe is planning to leave for a new job in the US in just a few hours.
Sunetra added: "Zoe has to wake up to reality and tell him she’s leaving. Zoe can’t be around Max any more because when she is, she wants to be with him."
But the couple may be forced to face up to their true feelings when Zoe is held hostage by a knife-wielding drug dealer, who threatens on numerous occasions to stab her.
It’s not known whether her alter-ego survives the ordeal but Sunetra has teased she’s got other things in the pipeline.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, she said: "I’m sure there will come a point when I’m not in ‘Casualty’, and I’d like to play other characters in other TV shows.
"I’d actually like to make a documentary. I’ve got a passion for being involved in creative new stuff, and I’m really fascinated by some subjects that haven’t really been touched on before. But as an actor you never know what the future holds, so it’s better not to put much pressure on it."
