Calvin Harris, John Newman and Disciples team up for Apple Music Festival

Calvin Harris, John Newman and Disciples treated fans to a spectacular show at the Apple Music Festival on Friday (23.09.16).
Headliner Calvin performed a 90 minute set, which ended with his new single ‘My Way’ but before that he put on quite the show for eager fans.
The Scottish DJ performed ‘Sweet Loving’, ‘This Is What You Came For’, which was written by his former girlfriend Taylor Swift, ‘Under Control’, ‘Force Field’ and ‘Say My Name’.
His collaborations with Ellie Goulding, ‘Outside’ and ‘ I Need Your Love’, also made it on to the setlist.
And the Scottish DJ showed his appreciation for Newman with a remix of ‘Blame’ which was also performed earlier in the evening.
Earlier, Disciples opened the show at London’s Roundhouse.
They started their set with the popular hit ‘They Don’t Know’ as well as remixes of Gorgon City’s ‘Imagination’ and Jude and Frank’s ‘La Luna’.
And ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, their song with Calvin, was also a hit with the crowd.
John Newman took to the stage at 8.30pm for a 50-minute set, starting with an energetic performance to ‘Give Me Your Love’, ‘Timing Game’ ‘Olé’ and ‘Blame It On The Night’.
John also credited his family, partner and close friends for motivating him to continue with his music career.
He said: "The people who make my life worth living. The first one being my mum, the other being my girlfriend, my brother.
"But there’s one reason I’m stood on this stage and that’s thanks to my good friend Calvin Harris. Thank him for this next track [‘Blame’]."
John also declared he uses music as a way to express his feelings and vent about matters plaguing his mind.
He said: "I think music doesn’t have to be for releasing and having number ones, you commit to music to get s**t off your mind, right?"
He continued his performance with ‘Not Giving In’ and ‘Can You Love Me Again’ before throwing the drum kit off the stage.
The Apple Music Festival continues until September 30 with performances from the likes of Britney Spears, Michael Buble and Robbie Williams.
For those who were unable to catch Calvin in person, the show – and the rest of the 10th annual free festival gigs – is available live and on-demand to Apple Music members in 100 countries.
