Brooke Vincent: Dancing on Ice has made me more ‘girly’

Brooke Vincent thinks ‘Dancing On Ice’ is making her more "girly".
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress will be taking part in the skating competition in the new year and admitted it is a big deal for her to wear skimpy and sparkly costumes because they are so different to her usual wardrobe, but she’s willing to give them a try and her mum in particular can’t wait to see her outfits.
She said: "I’m really excited [about the costumes]. I’m not very pen with my body.
"It will be a massive thing for me to wear those costumes, I’m much more a trousers and blazer type of girl, rather than a little dress.
"My mum can’t wait because it’s going to make me so girly.
"I’m the least pink, sparkly person but I’ve had some pink clothes sent to me with my name on the back in sparkles. The show is changing me!"
Another thing new to Brooke, 25, is facing criticism and judgement because she’s not had to put herself on the line since she auditioned for her role as Sophie Webster in ‘Corrie’ when she was just 11 years old.
She told OK! magazine: "I’ve never been in a competition apart from when I went for the part of Sophie Webster so it’s all going to be new to me, when it comes to taking criticism and taking things seriously."
However, the actress is looking forward to getting the feedback – though she isn’t sure she’s ready for Jason Gardiner’s tough comments.
She said: "I want that feedback. I always want to make myself better.
"It will mean I don’t get bored or too above my station. It’s about how you take it, although knowing me I’ll be crying when Jason says something.
"I’ll be saying, ‘Mum I want to go home’."
