Britney Spears returns to MTV VMAs after a decade away

Britney Spears made a triumphant return to the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in New York on Sunday (28.08.16) night.
The 34-year-old singer last performed at the event almost decade ago but was pumped with energy when she took to the stage at Madison Square Garden to show off her new single ‘Make Me…’ from her recently-dropped album ‘Glory’.
Kim Kardashian West introduced the star to the audience and the blonde beauty – who performed just after Beyoncé owned the stage with her intense 16-minute set – waltz out into the lights in a fierce bust-baring yellow leotard embellished with crystals and matching thigh-high boots.
Frolicking on the stage in her figure-hugging ensemble, the curvaceous babe appeared to mime most of the slow-paced set until she was joined onstage by four female dancers and G-Eazy, who raps on a couple of verses of the new single.
At one point, Britney crawled onto her hands and knees and slithered through G-Eazy’s legs before placing her perfectly-manicured hand on the crotch of his tight black skinny jeans.
Once the set had finished, Britney threw her arms around her 27-year-old rapper before planting a kiss on his cheek.
Britney – who checked into rehab 9 years ago following a breakdown – last appeared at the VMAs in 2007 but her performance of ‘Gimme More’ didn’t go down too well with fans as she sported unflattering bleach blonde extension and seemed to move around the stage uncoordinated.
Prior to that she hit the headlines in 2003 when she famously locked lips with Madonna during her surprise performance with her former rival Christina Aguilera.
And two years before that in 2001, she set pulses into overdrive when she bounded on stage with a snake draped around her neck for her performance of ‘I’m A Slave 4 You’.
