Britain’s Prince Charles celebrated the success of 50 youth volunteers as he made an appearance in London yesterday (25.11.15).
The 67-year-old royal was joined by ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter Susanna Reid as he visited the Wayra Academy in the English capital to commend two successful years of Step Up To Serve’s #iwill campaign.
A post on Clarence House’s official Instagram read: "Television presenter Susanna Reid meets the youngest ambassador of the #iwill campaign, 10-year old Ryan Bickle from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. The campaign encourages young people to take social action through collaboration and partnership.
"The Prince of Wales is Patron of Step Up To Serve, the charity behind the #iwill campaign, and attended an event to mark the charity’s second anniversary in #London today. (sic)"
During his address, the Prince – who is next in line to the throne – praised the "deliberately ambitious" plan to get 1.5 million young people between 10 and 20-years-old to take part in volunteering or fundraising by 2020.
He said: "About 40 years ago, when I was allowed to speak in the House of Lords, I suggested a national community service. Then no one wanted to know, but it’s more and more apparent there is a need."
