Blake Harrison to star in Death in Paradise

Blake Harrison has landed a role in ‘Death in Paradise’.
The ‘Inbetweeners’ actor will portray Theo Roberts, a reformed convict and zookeeper, who falls under suspicion in the drama series, and though he had a great time working in Guadeloupe with the likes of Ardal O’Hanlan (DI Jack Mooney), he had problems with some of his animal co-stars.
He said: "All of the cast and crew were fantastic to work with, except for one scene-stealing tortoise."
Before Blake can be seen in the BBC drama in January, he will be reuniting with his ‘Inbetweeners’ castmates Simon Bird, James Buckley and Joe Thomas for a two-hour special to mark 10 years of the student sitcom.
The show – which will be the first time the four stars have appeared on the small screen together since the final episode ‘The Camping Trip’ in 2010 – will celebrate all three TV series and both movies with behind-the-scenes footage, unheard stories and contributions from celebrity fans.
It will also rank the show’s funniest ever moments, including categories like Best Sex Scene and Best Ever Moment.
Tom Beck, Channel 4’s head of live events and commissioning editor for entertainment, said: "Will, Jay, Simon and Neil spent years failing to sneak into the best parties, so I’m very pleased to throw one that they’re definitely invited to.
"I just hope Will brings his Mum."
Meanwhile, co-executive producer Will Macdonald has praised the show’s enduring popularity as the show looks to remember why it was so beloved.
He added: "The love for ‘The Inbetweeners’ is huge, the kind of love that Jay would boast he’s had many times – big celebrities, millions of viewers and loving fans from across the globe.
"And it’s so exciting the boys will be back together to feel that love from all those people and enjoy it first-hand. What could possibly go wrong?"
