Keanu Reeves "started watching the earliest cuts" of ‘Bill & Ted 3’ more than 12 months ago.
The much-discussed third instalment of the comedy franchise has been years in the making, but according to Reeves’ co-star Alex Winter – who played Bill S. Preston Esq. in the original movies – it is nearing a reality.
Speaking at the SXSW Festival, Winter said his co-star – who appeared as Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan – is determined to get the film made, explaining: "He started watching the earliest cuts of this movie a year ago, and was just super into it.
"It’s really funny, because I asked him and I could tell he was waiting for me to ask. Because he was like, ‘Yeah. Duh.’"
The two original movies, ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ and ‘Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey’, debuted in 1989 and 1991 respectively, and Winter understands why fans are frustrated and skeptical about a third film being made.
He told Yahoo Movies: "We’re trying to get the movie made… we’re producing it and we’re actively trying to get it made. We’re not tired of it, but I think for our fans, we are eager to stop talking about and actually shoot the damn thing."
