Bear Grylls: Mission Survive is axed

‘Bear Grylls: Mission Survive’ has been axed.
The popular adventure show, which sees celebrities navigate through difficult terrain and tested on fundamental principles of survival, has been dropped by ITV after just two series as the channel attempts a "refresh" content.
A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: "We had two exciting series of ‘Mission Survive’, but the commissioning team continues to refresh the channel’s entertainment portfolio and so we have taken the decision not to commission a further series.
"We would like to thank Bear and the production team for everything that they achieved with the series."
However, although bosses have decided to ditch the show, which was won by Vogue Williams and Alex Scott respectively, they’re keen to work with the adventurer – whose real name is Edward Grylls – on other TV projects.
The spokeswoman added to the Digital Spy: "We have a number of projects with Bear in the pipeline and we will be announcing more details in due course."
Meanwhile, Bear recently confirmed his other show ‘The Island With Bear Grylls’ will return for another series next year, despite it being branded a "fix" a few months ago.
He said of the possibility of a fourth installment: "There will be another series, which is fantastic.
"It’s a great show. It does get ugly this series though. It’s amazing, it’s inspiring – and total respect to what the contestants go through."
