BBC announces Daily Kitchen Live to help with coronavius challenges

BBC One Daytime is launching ‘Daily Kitchen Live’ amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The broadcaster has announced the new show – which will air from the ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ set – as Jack Monroe and chef Matt Tebbutt aim to help viewers by dishing up health and accessible meals each episode.
The series – which will air each weekday on BBC One this month for two weeks from April 13 – will respond to challenges such as cooking on a budget and making "a little go a long way".
Viewers will also be able to get in touch with questions, offer their own advice and challenge Matt and Jack to come up with ideas using what they have in their cupboards.
Matt said: "I am really excited to be hosting this new show for the BBC.
"It’s going to be a great way to share some fun each morning with the viewers, while also sharing our ideas for quick and simple recipes that will get the whole family cooking."
Meanwhile, Jack revealed it’s important now, more than ever, to help people with the changes to everyday life.
He commented: "The way some of us cook has changed dramatically over the last few weeks, and rustling up nutritious, no-nonsense dinners in the current climate can be a challenge – but it’s incredibly important!
"I’ll be giving simple ingredient swaps, conjuring up recipes from whatever you may have in your cupboard and taking questions from viewers. I can’t wait to get started!"
Carla-Maria Lawson, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak, added: "Through ‘Daily Kitchen Live’, viewers will be able to tool themselves up with the knowledge they need to adapt to the challenges of isolation.
"Our talented experts will not only be dishing up healthy and achievable meal options but will be calming and cheering company when we need it most."
