Ashley Banjo jokes brother Jordan got Dancing on Ice gig because someone dropped out

Ashley Banjo has joked his younger brother Jordan Banjo only got the ‘Dancing on Ice’ presenting job because "the other guy dropped out."
The 29-year-old show judge – who made his panel debut four weeks ago – is thrilled that his sibling is working alongside him on the skating series but has quipped that he’s only there because they couldn’t find anyone else to front the social media segment.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the National Television Awards, held at London’s The O2 arena, last night (23.01.18), Jordan said of his new gig: "Definitely presenting is something I want to get into. Obviously there’s been a few bits like the Kids’ Choice Awards but this is such a big step up. It started off as you’re going to be doing some online videos and the next thing I know I’m doing this."
Ashley chimed in: "It’s because the other guy dropped out."
Jordan, 25, snapped back: "I earnt my job. It’s been great fun, I’m really excited to be there and every week it just gets better and better."
And Ashley has really settled into his role as a judge on the panel alongside Jason Gardiner – who is known for his acid tongue – and Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
He explained: "Do you know what, people assume skating’s not in my range of knowledge but actually I can skate, I love skating. I’m not massively technical. I wouldn’t be in an ice skating competition necessarily but I kind of combine my knowledge of skating with my much bigger knowledge of dance. I think sitting there, it’s really easy for me to comment because there’s so much the celebrities are getting called on. I feel really confident, I feel at home, I’m loving it. Me and Jason get really to it."
