Anthea Turner is engaged

Anthea Turner is engaged.
The 59-year-old television presenter – who was previously married to Peter Powell from 1990 to 1998, and Grant Bovey from 2000 to 2015 – has confirmed she is engaged to Mark Armstrong after just five months of dating.
Anthea confirmed the news on Scala Radio on Sunday (01.09.19), two weeks after she went public with her romance with 55-year-old tycoon Mark, whom she met in March at a private members’ club.
She said on the radio station: "He’s keeping me very happy. Finally after all this time we did. He proposed in Rome and it’s such a romantic city."
Earlier this month, sources said Anthea had almost given up on finding love again after splitting from ex-spouse Grant, but is already "smitten" with Mark.
An insider said: "Anthea has had a rocky few years, and had almost given up on finding love again.
"But she met Mark at London’s Wellington club and they hit it off straight away. He’s half-Italian, very charismatic and good looking – plus a few years younger, which is a boon.
"He fancied her straight away and they swapped details – Mark immediately asked her out, and it went from there."
The ‘Blue Peter’ star split from Grant in 2012 after discovering he had cheated on her, and previously admitted that she struggled to cope.
She said: "Fear makes us make bad decisions, hold on, put up and shut up. I knew it was time to go. But honestly death is easier than divorce. Death is final. There is no rejection. Divorce is ongoing."
However, Anthea turned to therapy as a way to help her cope with the split and says getting professional help was the best thing she could have done.
She said: "I got to the point where I realised I could only get so far talking to friends.
"I needed professional help to sort my life out – from someone who didn’t know me – and it really helped."
