Ant McPartlin: I’m an adrenaline junkie

Ant McPartlin considers himself to be an adrenaline junkie.
The 42-year-old TV star – who is currently preparing to celebrate the 100th episode of ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ – has admitted that he relishes doing some of the dangerous-looking stunts on the popular ITV show.
He said: "I love anything that involves heights and danger and potential death!"
By contrast, Ant’s good friend and long-time co-star Declan Donnelly is happy to spurn the opportunity to do the stunts.
Looking back on his time on ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’, he explained: "We’ve done some scary stuff: abseiling down the building, collecting flags from the outside of the building, zipwiring.
"Climbing up buildings, climbing down buildings. I broke my arm on a motorbike stunt one year.
"I don’t really like the scary stuff but they always manage to persuade me to give in and do it. Ant’s much better at those ones than me."
In fact, Dec admits to being relieved when the makers of the programme hand the really scary stunts to his co-star.
He said: "I’m not bothered so every time they give us a heights one I’m like, ‘Yes!’"
Meanwhile, Ant recently admitted that he and Dec hope to star in their own buddy movie one day.
The TV presenter – who first starred alongside his close friend on the children’s drama series ‘Byker Grove’ – revealed he’d relish a return to acting, saying: "We love it.
"That’s where we started. It is a slightly different discipline for us and it reminds us of being back on ‘Byker Grove’."
