Anne Nolan is writing a musical

A musical about the Nolan sisters is being written for the stage.
Anne Nolan has reportedly turned her autobiography ‘Anne’s Song’, which she penned in 2008, into a music-filled stage production to cover the years since the tome was released – but it won’t feature any of their hits ‘I’m in the Mood for Dancing’.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It’s not a jukebox Nolans musical, it’s an autobiography turned into a musical. Obviously, there is an overlap with the sisters."
The musical will have some new songs to reflect Anne’s book as well as some big sad ballads to represent the time she lost her sister Bernie to breast cancer in 2013.
There will also be hits to document the time Anne found lumps in her breasts in 2000, the four months of extensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy she went through and sadly losing her mother Maureen Nolan to Alzheimer’s in 2007.
The source explained: "There are new songs to reflect Anne’s book. There are big, sad one to reflect the time when Bernie passed, about Anne’s breast cancer, and about their mum Maureen losing her battle with Alzheimer’s."
She’s also agreed to include a scene about the sexual abuse she suffered as a child at the hands of her father Tommy, who later went on to manage the girls, in the show.
The insider added to the publication: "There is a very sensitive scene that delicately cover the issue with utmost respect."
However, despite the nature of the musical, it will still be "funny and happy."
The insider said: "It’s really funny as well as sad and happy."
After Anne’s autobiography came out, her sisters Bernie, Maureen, Linda and Coleen refused to speak to her but they made up in 2014 after a dying plea from Bernie.
Her siblings won’t be involved in the musical.
