Angela Lansbury hints at Murder, She Wrote comeback

Dame Angela Lansbury has hinted ‘Murder, She Wrote’ could return "one more time".
The 91-year-old star has admitted she "wouldn’t be surprised" if the popular 80s and 90s show, in which she played crime writer and fighter Jessica Fletcher, was back on our screens at some point in the near future.
She said: "I was in genuine tears doing my last scene.
"Jessica Fletcher had become so much a part of my life, it was difficult to come to terms with it being all over.
"Having said that, there have been some two-hour specials since we stopped in 1996 and I wouldn’t be surprised if we got together just one more time."
The original series aired for 12 seasons with more than 260 episodes, and Angela was "amazed" how the show became such a classic.
She said: "It was first seen on television in September, 1984, with a two-hour pilot and it was an immediate success.
"I was amazed at how successful it was. I never believed it would run for 12 years.
"I would not want to take anything away from Murder, She Wrote but when you are the principal in something like that you have to work incredibly hard to help keep it fresh."
However, the star admitted the programme was so successful it didn’t give her time to do anything else and she was wary about being "trapped".
She added to The Sunday Post: "My life totally revolved around it. There was hardly any time off and certainly no time or energy for doing anything else.
"You can get trapped."
Last month, Angela admitted she felt "honoured" after it was announced she is to be given the Rose d’Or Lifetime Achievement Award – previously won by the likes of John Cleese – at the ceremony in Berlin, Germany, on September 19.
She said: "I’m honoured to be coming to Berlin in September, for the first time in my life, to receive this most coveted award, the Rose d’Or. I cannot thank you enough and I’m so looking forward to being there."
