AJ Pritchard slams Strictly judges’ marking

AJ Pritchard claims he and Saffron Barker were "undermarked" by the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judges.
The couple exited the competition at the weekend after finding themselves joint bottom of the leaderboard but the 25-year-old professional dancer believes the panel were unfair in awarding them just 26 out of 40 – including a five from Craig Revel Horwood – for their Samba.
Speaking on ‘Strictly – It Takes Two’, he said: "Going out there and doing a Samba, it is one of the hardest dances.
"You did amazing, you attacked it so positively and for me the dance was great, which I felt was underscored.
"Our fans saved us definitely, I feel like the judges sent home. It was a sad evening."
And AJ dismissed suggestions of "technical issues" which had featured in the judges’ feedback.
He said: "I didn’t see any of them technical issues."
Saffron – who burst into tears when she and AJ were voted off following a dance-off with Karim Zeroual and his pro partner Amy Dowden – admitted she is still feeling "gutted" to be out of the competition.
She said: "I’m okay, I am gutted, it’s weird more than anything.
"Strictly was my life for 10 weeks."
Saffron previously admitted she and AJ had begged producers on the BBC Latin and ballroom show not to make them dance the samba.
She said: "We tried to get out of dancing the Samba but they wouldn’t let us."
It’s now the third time ‘Strictly’ pro AJ has been voted off the show after performing the Brazilian dance, and he has commented on the idea he’s cursed.
He said: "You should ask production if they think that."
