Adam Lambert is ‘open’ to recording new Queen songs

Adam Lambert is "open" to recording new music with Queen.
The 34-year-old singer has been performing lead vocals with the iconic rock group’s guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor on stage for the last few years to critical acclaim.
Adam admits he would be interested in creating new music with his bandmates but admits it has never been discussed.
In an interview with Digital Spy, he said: "I’m certainly open to anything. If something sounds cool and it’s the right thing to do at the right time, then I’m game … I haven’t heard anything like that come up."
Quizzed on whether he thinks it is likely the ‘We Will Rock You’ hitmakers will want to go in the studio with him, he quipped: "They might ask me. I might be on the shortlist!"
Adam admits he is wary that Queen fans would not want to hear new music under the band’s name as he accepts he cannot replace late great frontman Freddie Mercury – who passed away in November 1991 at the age of 45.
He explained: "Maybe it’s an issue of, is that Queen without Freddie?
"To me, Queen is (Freddie) … that’s why we’re billed as Queen plus Adam Lambert. I’m their guest who’s filling in by singing these songs and having a great time doing it. But it’s not necessarily Queen."
Despite his concerns about replacing Freddie, Brian has hailed Adam as a "gift from god" and praised him for being an "extraordinary figurehead" on the tours they’ve done.
The 68-year-old musician said: "I feel so privileged that we can still do this. We spend half our lives building this legacy of songs and contact with an audience, and we can still be out there and doing it. And it’s wonderful that we have Adam. You need an extraordinary figurehead, and we do have it in Adam. So it’s a gift from God. I call him a gift from God."
Queen plus Adam Lambert will headline the Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday (12.06.16).
