Christoph Waltz will not be playing the head of Spectre in the next James Bond movie.
The Oscar-winning actor has been widely expected to assume the role of legendary villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, head of the Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion – but Christoph, 58, insists his part in the much-anticipated new film is more complex than speculation suggests.
Asked if he would head the fictional terrorism organisation, Christoph told Collider: "No. No. It’s more interesting than that."
This comes shortly after Daniel Craig said the script for ‘Spectre’ is "better than we had last time".
According to the 46-year-old actor – who’s playing James Bond for the fourth time in the new film – ‘Spectre’ should be superior to the 2012 hit ‘Skyfall’, which made more than $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office.
He said: "We’ve got an amazing cast and, I think, a better script than we had last time."
Daniel explained that the new script builds on some of the themes explored in ‘Skyfall’.
He said: "We started something in ‘Skyfall’, it felt like a beginning of something. This feels like a continuation of that. We’re going to put all of those elements in, and much more."
