Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was reportedly furious after being introduced as Cheryl Cole.
The ‘X Factor’ judge officially changed her name after tying the knot with French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini earlier this year, dropping her first husband, soccer star Ashley Cole’s surname for good.
However, the talent show’s warm-up act Ian Royce is said to have referred to her by her old name before Sunday’s (26.10.14) results show because he was struggling to pronounce her new French name correctly.
A source claimed Cheryl "looked really peeved. She said, ‘Cole is not my name!"
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: "Royce said he had trouble pronouncing it but she gave him a withering look and said it wasn’t hard to say ‘unless you were arrogant and had no common sense’."
Jean-Bernard was sitting in the audience during the incident, alongside show boss Simon Cowell’s right-hand woman Sinitta – who claims an edict was handed out to everyone in the studio instructing them not to refer to Cheryl as Cheryl Cole.
Sinitta explained: "Do not use the C-word in this building. The four-letter C-word, Cole."
However, the ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ singer is now said to have forgiven Ian – who is also a warm-up act on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and for One Direction.
A source revealed: "She and Roycey have now kissed and made up."
