Miranda Hart has announced the two Christmas specials she is doing will mark the end of her eponymous BBC sitcom.
The 41-year-old comedian confirmed that ‘Miranda’ – which also stars the likes of Sarah Hadland, Tom Ellis and Patricia Hodge, and first aired on the BBC in November 2009 – will conclude over the festive season.
Miranda – who’s produced a book that gives fans of the show an insight to the sitcom – explained to BBC Radio 2: "I’m actually coming to the end of the whole sitcom. This is the first time I’m saying it out loud, so it’s a bit weird!
"I’m doing two Christmas specials but they are going to be the finale of the show, full stop."
Miranda, who’s earned four BAFTA nominations, three Royal Television Society awards and four British Comedy Awards for her appearances on the show, said the new book was her way of thanking the fans.
She explained: "I wanted to do a book to celebrate the series and celebrate all the people who have supported it and watched it. So they get to see the scripts and some backstage gossip and all that sort of thing."
